Edward Manning, founder of Southeast Drapery and Shading, inherited a love of textiles and craftsmanship from his grandmother, who was a clothing designer in Spain. As a young adult, he trained with designers in NYC, where he secured his first career defining project. Edward opened Southeast Drapery and Shading in Miami in 2001. He furthered trained with Lutron, Crestron and Somfy, becoming one of the first South Florida based craftsmen certified to work with Somfy.
Today, Edward’s designs are drawn from his technical knowledge of modern window treatments as well as his understanding of the worlds of art and design. Whether outfitting standard windows or creating solutions for difficult spaces, Edward loves what he does: “I love working with textiles. I love creating beauty. A space is never complete until the drapery is hung. It is the finishing touch.”
